Summer/Fall/Winter/spring Internships
M.A.R.E. Riding Center is now offering limited **PAID internships in various areas of our program, through Kern Community Foundation. While we have specific areas of need, we also cater to the areas of interest and study of the potential intern. M.A.R.E. Riding Center's interns have several options from PATH Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor prep, to volunteer and nonprofit management, grant writing, fundraising events, equine welfare and stable management.
**Eligible participants of the program must be at least 18 years of age by January 6, 2023, and no older than 30 years of age during their time as an intern. We are giving priority to applicants who:

Have not participated in an AmeriCorps Program

May have difficulty finding employment
-
low-income
-
Are unemployed and/or out of school.

Are or were justice-involved.

Are in or transition from foster care.

Are engaged with mental health or substance abuse system.
MARE Riding Center is also accepting applications for 2 candidates for our Winter & Spring sessions. To be considered, candidates must have ONE or more of the following qualifications:

6 months teaching experience. (Previous teaching is not required but it is a plus.)

Fundraising desire or experience working/volunteering at fundraising events.

Degree or studying in the Fields of any writing-intensive major such as English, journalism, communications or marketing. Or a Degree in Equine Science or Management.

Attend and successfully complete volunteer training at M.A.R.E. Riding Center- Mandatory

Previous experience grant writing, or willingness to learn.

Key Skills-detail oriented, communication, writing, and computer research skills; use of productivity software
During the internship we may have you help in other areas depending on the need at the time.
